A well-maintained lawn is a joy to behold, a neglected lawn not so much. Lush green grass is as
important to your property’s overall look as the plantings that surround it. But there’s more to
maintaining that grass than simply irrigating regularly and mowing once a week through spring and
summer.
As part of our ongoing maintenance of your lawns, we aerate and overseed regularly. These two
actions are essential for your lawn’s continued health. Aeration relieves soil compaction, allows
air in and out of the soil, permits better water penetration and drainage, and promotes root
penetration.
Working hand-in-glove with aeration is overseeding. Each of the plugs that are removed during the
aeration process leaves behind a small hole with its own unique microclimate, a little cooler and
more humid than the soil around it. It’s the perfect environment for new grass growth. Thus, after
aerating, we scatter seed across the lawn and thus introduce new growth to the entire area.
