Pruning is important if you want to manage the size and shape of the trees and shrubs in your
landscape. It also promotes plant health and, in flowering varieties, promotes bloom development.
For a commercial landscape pruning can also be important for maintaining safety around areas of
vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
But there are skills behind good pruning. Depending on the type of tree or shrub most pruning should
be done in late winter but some varieties should be pruned immediately after blooming. And there’s
an art to shaping trees and plants—a well-shaped tree can enhance a landscape, while a poorly shaped
one can do the reverse.
Our certified arborists can make one-time visits or we can develop a pruning program specifically
designed for your needs.
